Die Fledermaus  by Mark Sparrow

“Richly deserves the thunderous applause. . .A refreshing nod to traditionalism in this world of minimalism. . .Sparkling productions.”

The Kentish Gazette

Die Fledermaus  by E.A.H

2001

“The Carl Rosa Opera company performance was the most thrilling and delightful I have experienced in 60 years of opera going…the singing moved between very good and superb. . .brilliantly acted and moved with precision of a trained corps de ballet. . .”

The Press and Journal Aberdeen

Die Fledermaus  by Roddy Phillips

2001

“. . .after last night’s opening performance of Die Fledermaus, I have to say Strauss wins hands down. The dazzling staging with a new translated part for narrator Ranjit Bolt is an absolutely delightful piece of theatre . . . Die Fledermaus is full of wonderful music and it was beautifully brought to dashing life last night. This production is thoroughly recommended.”

Bath Chronicle

Die Fledermaus  by Michael Saffell

2001

‘. . .the Carl Rosa Opera add a certain extra ingredient in their production that somehow makes you feel that they treat it with respect, without reducing its entertainment value. . . the singing is, as you would expect from such a company as Carl Rosa, tremendous.

Soloists and chorus have a full and true sound, backed by an orchestra that gives an authentic Strauss-like lilt to their playing. Visually, too, the productions is a treat, especially the party gowns from Act II; 19th-century designs were used as the basis for these creations.’
